The DS3231 RTC Memory Module with I2C interface and integrated AT24C32 offers a low-cost, highly accurate real-time clock (RTC) solution. Equipped with a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and a crystal, this module ensures precise timekeeping and improves long-term accuracy by minimizing component count during production.

This RTC module keeps track of seconds, minutes, hours, days, dates, months, and years. It automatically adjusts for months with fewer than 31 days and accounts for leap years. The clock can operate in either 24-hour format or 12-hour format with AM/PM indication. It also features two configurable alarm clocks and a calendar with a square wave output. Data is transferred via a bidirectional I2C bus, providing efficient communication with the system.

The DS3231 includes a precision temperature-compensated voltage reference and comparator circuit that monitors the VCC status, detecting power failures and triggering a reset output if necessary. It can also automatically switch to backup power in the event of a failure. Additionally, a /RST pin allows for manual reset generation.
