Most of the IO are led out by standard PMOD connector and can connect with other PMOD device. Also, it has a on-board debugger called iCELink which is based on ARM Mbed DAPLink. You can just drag the FPGA bitstream into the virtual disk to program with a big convenience, since the iCELink supports drag-and-drop programming, USB CDC serial port and JTAG.
