The TMC2208 V1.2 is the latest version that uses the UART function directly and eliminates the need for extra wiring.
It has a flexible micro-Plyer interpolation unit that can provide up to 256 micro steps per step resolution. This allows for smooth sinusoidal control even in systems with limited pulse rates. As a stealth chip, it uses fine music technology that is widely used in 3D printing. Therefore, it is compatible with existing 3D printer electronics and does not require costly redesign.
